Heartburn Chest Pain - What Does Heartburn Feel Like

Chest pain can relate to a number of things, so this in particular is an article about heartburn and the chest pain it does cause. You may have already experienced heartburn at one time or another and not being aware of the fact it was heartburn you were experiencing. Heartburn chest pain can range from being mild to excessively severe. This chest pain however, can have the ability to move on upwards and affect and cause pain in your throat and also down into your arms. Chest pain is not very nice and you can often feel like your breathing is restricted with the sort of chest pain that heartburn can cause. What does Heartburn Feel Like Heartburn feels like you have been instantaneously struck down with cramp or a bug. You may feel at the time of a heartburn attack that you have simply eaten something bad. An actual fact is, you more than likely have done, but it is heartburn the 'wrong' sorts of food you are eating will cause, as opposed to a bad piece of fish for example causing a bad stomach ache. You will need to learn the difference of what is a stomach ache and what is heartburn. Heartburn does feel rather excruciating and must be dealt with as soon as possible. It is said that walking around, or straightening your body does help alleviate the pain you will feel due to heartburn. Often lying down does make the heartburn chest pain feel much worse. The chest pain that you feel behind your breastbone of pressure may last up to two hours, even sometimes for longer periods. You may also discover that heartburn does feel very acidic. This is because of the acid reflux you are experiencing with heartburn. You may also feel a burning sensation along with pain in your throat region. This is a very good sign that you have heartburn to recognize. So simply - this does make heartburn easily diagnosed. You may also along with the above feel an acidic taste in your mouth. When you suffer from a heartburn attack, you can also feel like your want to bring your food back up, or as though you have food stuck in your throat. Heartburn does have the ability to make you suffer nausea. You more than likely will not have food stuck or lodged in your throat, this is simply how you feel when you have heartburn. You may wish to take an antacid to relieve the chest pain or the other pains associated with heartburn. These are highly recommended for eliminating heartburn chest pain. If you find that antacids do not work for you, and the burning chest pain of heartburn is not relieved, you should schedule an appointment with your local or family doctor as soon as possible and get his or her professional opinion on your condition. Recurring heartburn episodes can lead to further more serious medical conditions, so it is best to monitor how often you get heartburn, and then act on it with medical advice. Once you have learned to recognize the varying pains and pressures that you will feel when heartburn strikes, you will know what it is you are suffering from, and can then make a pretty good judgement call on what you need to speak to your local or family doctor about. If you know of a person who you think does have heartburn, but they do not seem to be aware of their condition, maybe you can explain to them now, just what heartburn is and the pain that heartburn does in fact cause. They may like you all the more for your advice and help. No one person should have to suffer from any pain, be it from heartburn or something else - so become pro-active and make a conscious effort to look after yourself and your health.
