Fatty meals and alcohol are a common cause of heartburn occurring shortly after a meal has been eaten. Are you also aware that bending over, lifting and even lying down can also be a cause of acid reflux or heartburn? Not many people are in fact aware of these causes of heartburn and are often quite in awe when they learn these movements can in fact cause heartburn and acid reflux. Now we all know that smoking is not healthy for us at all, but did you know that smoking can not only cause the medical problems we are all aware of, such as cancer, but smoking can in fact be a cause of heartburn, or in the very least make an already existing condition of heartburn worse. Continuous bouts of heartburn and acid reflux can in fact cause other medical conditions, such as ulcers which will lead to bleeding and possible iron deficiencies. It is important for you to become aware of what can cause acid reflux and heartburn, so you can then prevent any further problems with acid reflux and heartburn. In preventing acid reflux and heartburn, you can very well be preventing other medical problems and conditions from becoming a part of your life. I'm sure you do not want to end up with an iron deficiency at any stage, and ulcers are not something I would wish you have either.
